Kits Halloween is just around the corner, so get a jump on it now.

You will need a spool of Stardust in Black, 2yds of Lurex in Violet or Chili Orange, a set of size #000 dp needles, (You can use a pair of straight needles and put a seam in the hat if you prefer. Just work back and forth instead of in rounds.) and a 12" length of floral wire.

The directions are for the 15-16" size. Use the numbers in parentheses for the 11.5" size.

With the Lurex yarn, cast on 66 (44) sts and divide them onto 3 dp needles. Work 8 rounds. Switch to the Stardust yarn and work 70 (50) rounds, decreasing 6 (4)sts evenly spaced around every 7th (5th) round 10 times. Work 3 (2) rounds decreasing 2 st each round. Tie off. With the Stardust yarn, pick up 1 st in each cast on st of the Lurex band, 66(44)sts. Work 1 round increasing 1 st in every 3rd st, 88(58)sts. Work 5(3) rounds. Work 1 round increasing 1 st in every 3rd st, 117(77)sts. Work 5(3) rounds. Work 1 round increasing 1 st in every 3rd st, 156(102)sts. Work 10(6) rounds. Work 1 round in K1, P1 ribbing. Bind off very loosely in ribbing. Weave the yarn ends into the inside of the hat. Weave the floral wire into the outermost edge of the brim and cut it off. Weave another piece up the hat to the point. Bend the floral wire to shape the hat brim and point as you want them. Secure the hat to the doll's head with pins.
